The Royal Bank of Canada opened a branch in Windthorst on October 8, 1908.

The first home of the Royal Bank (known at that time as the Union Bank of Canada) was a wooden building, nearly always painted cream, with paned windows and storm windows.  First, warmed by a coal heater, a furnace was added later.  Before power, kerosene and pressure lamps were used to light inside, decorated with oak furniture and counter. There was no Safe Deposit Boxes but a vault with many envelopes hidden away for safe keeping. The new branch, built in 1971, still stands on the corner of Railway Avenue and Angus Street as it has for over the last 100 years.

Today Windthorst RBC is proud to be a full-service branch. Open Monday through Friday with a wide range of services, such as Mortgages, Small Business, Agriculture, and Retirement Planning are offered in branch by specialized service partners.  Manager Bernard Steele and staff invite you to stop in!

RBC would like to thank Windthorst and surrounding area for their continued patronage.
